Batman: The Animated Series title cards.
Batman: The Animated Series is so goddamned beautiful. All the typefaces are perfect, the mood is always dark but in an incredibley alluring and exciting way. I’d live in that Gotham City.

I just have to post this and say that back in the days before the TV guide channel or any of these fancy cable boxes that tell you everything on every channel at once, when you didn’t have a paper TV guide handy, you were at the whims of the TV, especially as a kid.
There were a lot of shows I loved but I distinctly remember that every time I would flip the TV over to Cartoon Network and see the WB symbol transform in to the lights, I would get so excited and hope that it was the start of a Batman block and not just one episode. That animation shift and the opening notes of the music always meant awesome TV was ahead and you were lucky enough to catch it.
“Your parents blocked you from BATMAN? Don’t they know that a healthy dose of Batman is essential for the growth and development of a child?”
- random YouTube comment that I have to COMPLETELY agree with. Honestly, I think being shown Batman: Mask of the Phantasm at an early age by my parents and then growing up watching The Animated Series just made me a more awesome person overall.
